On December 3, the China-Laos Railway which links Kunming to Vientiane and uses Chinese standards throughout the entire line went into operation. This dragon of iron and steel carries the Chinese and Laotian people’s dreams as it winds through the mountains and makes splendid achievements. This cross-border railway line which had been in the making for five years, entailed the hard work of tens of thousands of construction workers and truly showcased Chinese wisdom and power, finally overcoming many technical challenges via innovation, and gaining many scientific achievements that concentrated on Chinese cutting-edge technology and equipment.
